CAQ Professional Practice Fellow
Brian Cassidy, CPA, is a Professional Practice Fellow at the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ). In that capacity, he helps guide the CAQ’s professional practice and public policy activities as part of an 18-month fellowship that began in early 2016. Prior to joining the CAQ, Cassidy was an Audit Senior Manager in Deloitte’s Audit and Enterprise Risk Services practices. Brian has over 11 years of audit and advisory risk experience, primarily assisting clients in enhancing and streamlining their financial reporting framework. Cassidy primarily focused on serving Investment Managers including Private Equity, Real Estate and other alternative investment firms. He specialized in providing financial reporting and operational control services, including financial statement audit support and SOX/COSO readiness assessments. He has significant experience in assisting clients on a variety of risk management and internal control issues identified during the course of an audit. He was the lead senior manager serving BlackRock, Inc. and globally coordinated and executed their annual financial statement audit. Cassidy is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and New York State Society of CPAs. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Accountancy and a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from Villanova University.
